About Us
Tropical Riddimz Caribbean Dance Company is the one and only Caribbean dance team at Howard University. Founded in 2008 by Jahkia, Tropical Riddimz' mission is to keep the Caribbean art of dance and culture alive on Howard's historical campus.
Since its inception, Tropical Riddimz has performed across Howard University's campus including special events such as Taste of Howard, Midnight Madness, ResFest, the Howard University Student Association Aids Benefit Concert, The American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life", and Howard University's Homecoming International Showcase and Homecoming Yardfest (opening for the famous Jamaican artist Tony Matterhorn).

What started off as a group of friends with a shared love for Caribbean culture has now become one of the most recognized university-dance companies in the DMV area and beyond. Performing annually at universities such as Georgetown, American, UPenn, UMBC, UMD, and GW, Tropical Riddimz is beginning to make its rounds. Check our calendar to see when our next event will be!
